North South Trail 40 Mile Trek
Saturday
We arrived at the ocean.
Today was the last day of our trek. The boys have become a cohesive unit, all working together as a team. The boys now know that they can overcome just about any obstacle and get the job done. The leadership is proud of all the boys that came on the trek and the boys have a new appreciation of what the leaders do for the troop. This was apparent during last nights "thorns, roses and buds" session.

Friday
We are halfway done for today. We hiked 5 miles since we started today. It is very humid and everyone is doing well. Tonight’s dinner is hotdogs and hamburgers with watermelons and other treats.

The first one up gets to wake up Mr. Franklin!
Wednesday
Today after a hearty breakfast, we topped off our water and.started on the trail. Our first stop was at the old Baptist church. We rested for a bit before the 2nd third.of our trek which was mostly uphill. We ate lunch at the pond where the second picture was taken. We are gorilla camping tonight along the trail and received our next two days provisions from Mr Fic. I believe the high point of the day was when Mr. G found us as we were taking a break as we passed under rte 95 near exit #4. He had cold water and dels. We are up.early tomorrow to get started before it gets too hot. Hopefully we are swimming by lunch.

Tuesday
These are the pictures from day one of our 40 mile trek. The boys did very well and worked as a team today. We checked their backpacks this morning and they did a good job packing. We did lighten the packs a little by removing some heavy non-essential equipment. By coincidence the boys met up with Mr. Bosquet and his family from Scituate High School on the trial today. The boys showed him their map and compass skills. They also spent time at Step Stone Falls playing in the water today. A good time was had by all.
The boys are all in good spirits tonight.
